The Green Mom Ambassador program sends groups samples to get feedback on products. Samples have been from companies such as Boiron, Pamela's Products, Amy's Kitchen, Nature's Gate, etc.

If you would like to apply to be a Green Mom Ambassador, just fill out the form. There is also a very quick bit of training after you apply--simply just clicking through a couple quick pages (like a paragraph or two per page) of info.

So, it has been a slow process to gear-back up after vacation. My daughter started school this past week, and we have just been busy, busy.

But, there have been some fun deals, and I miss sharing them with you. Don't forget to let me know when you like a deal. It is the feedback that drives me, so the more I know it helps others, the more motivated I get.

I am considering going completely to a Facebook page, but am not sure about how well it would work out. I'll keep you posted on any changes.

There are lots of clothing coupons (look for clearance items), and even a $1/1 produce coupon (can use on organic!). Often the clothing, produce, etc. coupons will only give you one print per computer. Many of the others allow two prints. Some of the great coupons tend to disappear quickly, so you might print what you want, while you can.

Ideas for Packing Lunches

Lots of people are gearing up to go back to work or school. I thought I would share a couple links I have found interesting. My daughter will be starting school for the first time this fall, and I am completely committed to packing her lunch.

Kitchen Stewardship has a great post on packing lunches. I think one idea I have appreciated is that not every meal has to be a full-course affair. Kids can get just as much nutrition from a variety of "snacky" foods. By rotating between left-overs and a mix of snack foods (fruits, veggies, nuts/seeds, whole grains), I think the prep time can be minimized, especially on those busier mornings.

I really need to get in the habit of baking more nutrient-rich muffins and other baked goods. Those would be fantastic additions.

I have previously shared the Weston Price article Packing the Perfect Lunch Box. More great suggestions there.

One of my other favorite links is Lunch in a Box. I love the idea of the Japanese Bento--those cute little compartmentalized lunch boxes. This blog is from a mom who packs a Bento for her husband and kids. She shares how she preps the boxes in the morning. While she appears to have quit posting, I still find it inspirational to read through the posts for new ideas.

I would love to avoid plastic altogether in our lunches, but don't feel that glass would be the wisest choice to send with my daughter. I decided instead to get some great BPA-free plastic containers that are made to fit her lunchbox. If I need to wrap anything, I will just use wax paper. I got some extra stainless steel water bottles and two stainless steel insulated containers. I am still hoping to make her some cute napkins, but if not, I will just throw in one of our cloth napkins. I also plan to just pack our regular silverware. This will be an exercise in responsibility for her, also--to make sure everything comes back home.

I have no idea what to expect on this journey, but I think the challenge will be fun. Hopefully she will be looking forward to her great lunches that are packed with love.

I got a $5 off $30 CVS coupon by email today (from the ExtraCare email), so I started thinking about how to use it. Let me know if this is helpful, as I probably won't do this every week unless it is beneficial.

Here are some things on sale next week. I am trying to find the free after ECB deals, etc.:

Biotrue Multi-Purpose Solution $2.99 = $2.99 ECB (limit 2) Use $2/1q. Makes it a $2 MM! (Usually, you can't do the same deal multiple times in a transaction--so just do two transactions) This is a monthly deal.

Renpure Shampoo & Conditioner is B1G1 Free. I just got some of the shampoo at Walgreens and really like it, so I may do this to up my purchase amt. Some of the bottles have a try me free hangtag, (I have one), so you could get two free after mail-in rebate!

My CVS will take all CVS coupons (even ECBs!!) as long as they scan--which is usually about 5-7 days past the exp. date. I LOVE my CVS!!
