The Future of Food playing at the Gillioz



The Well-Fed Neighbor Alliance, with the kind support and assistance of Gillioz Theater, will present the critically acclaimed documentary, The Future Of Food, Tuesday, March 31st, 7 p.m. at the Gillioz Theatre, 325 Park Central East, in Springfield, Mo.


The Future of Food is a clear, logical, and breath-taking depiction of the vulnerability we face for lack of a sustainable local food supply. Tickets are $10 at the door, first come first serve: 50% of the proceeds will go to help fund the Transition ’09 Initiatives of the Alliance.

Local Food Security is an integral component of Transition ’09, an initiative whose goals include local food security, economic re-localization, and a viable energy descent plan.

There will be a Musical introduction by Alexander Kofi, there will be exhibits in the entry hall, and 2 Miles Electric Cars will be on display.

I went to the library a couple of weeks ago and saw this film. It was infuriating. If you had any doubt that Monsanto was the Devil, this will clear it up for you. It is. Direct TV also showed this on some channel called LINK a couple of weeks ago. VERY INTERESTING. There is another movie called Food, Inc. I want to see. Let me know if you find anywhere it is showing. I think it is going to be in town (Springfield) somewhere but I can't remember where I saw that poster. There is a film called The World According to Monsanto that is in it's entirety 1 hour 43 minutes or so on YouTube too. I haven't had time to watch all of it yet. Lots of stuff out there, more people need to watch these things.
