More Dillons Best Customer Coupons

I posted last week about receiving "Best Customer" catalinas from the register when I checked out. Well today, I got a booklet in the mail from Dillon's. It was filled with coupons, both manufacturer and store coupons. It was focused on Vegetarian recipes and info. It included coupons for PS organic salad, organic beans, bagged veggies--as well as Kraft mac-n-chz, etc.(?!)

I have been looking for these awhile. I did email Dillons asking to get coupons from them. I don't know if that did it, or if I finally just qualify as a "Best Customer".

Amazon: Organic Grocery Sale

Amazon is claiming to have a 50% off or more sale. Some of the prices seem a little wild, though. (Like a box of 7th gen. tampons originally $85??) But, you might find something in the mix. A lot of it qualifies for free shipping after $25 or more.

I am very tempted by the Newman-O's or Fig Newman's, 12 pack at $2.40/pack. However, I know DH would finish off all 12 packs in.... oh, two weeks?

There is also 5 gallons of organic coconut oil at $160. That is about $.25/oz, if I did my math right. That's probably half the price of what you would pay for the biggest container through Frontier. I'm thinking coconut oil bath...

I hope you all are as excited about your local Farmer's Market as I am. We have a pretty big garden this year, so I don't need as much produce--but it's great to fill in the gaps.

HOWEVER!!! This year the market has a new vendor-- Real Farm Foods.
They sell natural beef and pork products, and.... raw milk!!!! So psyched. Welcome!!

Use those 2 q's AND the one in last week's paper for $2 off sugar wyb 20 pks kool-aid (does not specify type of sugar--brown, white..., or brand--organic, cane, etc.)

I ran by there today in the hopes of snagging nearly free ice cream. It was all gone. However, keep your eyes peeled in case they restock (which they rarely do in cases of great deals). The Target Coupon Generator (find on Organic Grocery Deals) has a coupon for $1/1 Edy's or Dreyer's Ice Cream. There is a small size on sale for $1.19 right now.

Go to coupons.com (use in upper right, please!) and print the $5/1 for Pictureka. You can find the card game at Target (and prob. Walmart, etc.) for $6.99, so only $1.99 after q. I got one today. My kids love games.

Not too many fantastic deals at Target this week. But, I thought I would mention a couple things.

Yum--Lunch

My kids just scarfed down lunch today. They are finishing it up, and I am still hearing the sounds of enjoyment.

We had Greek Tortilla Pizza
Whole wheat tortillas. Spread olive oil over them. Layer sliced tomatoes around. Sprinkle with feta cheese (there is a $1 off q on Smartsource, or $.50/1 q from insert). Add olives (optional--they like, I don't)

Bake around 400, turn broiler on for a couple minutes to get crispy.

Yummy. I think I should have made more.

I forgot the best part!!! Sprinkle with fresh chopped basil after it comes out of the oven!

Nourishing Traditions

I have a big appreciation for the book "Nourishing Traditions" and the ideas within. (Interpret that as--I think it is cool and use ideas as I can work them in. I have some convenience issues I need to deal with)

I found a blog that shares recipes, etc. along this vein. I'll link to my all-time favorite recipe from her-- Making Chicken Stock in the Crockpot. Be sure to go to her homepage, too and see newer articles.

It seems so obvious, but for some reason I found the idea of making my own chicken stock to be daunting. I kind of felt it was silly to cook a soup to make a soup. Thus, I purchased canned broth so I would have it on hand when I needed it. (I still have some in my emergency stockpile)

Now, my goal is to roast a chicken (whole or a couple split breasts, etc.) maybe once a week or so. (I absolutely LOVE roast chicken) I then just throw the carcass in the crockpot. I also liked the idea of keeping my vegetable remains in the fridge (tops of carrots, onion peel, etc.) and making use of them. I follow the instructions given pretty similarly.

The end product is 2 jars of GORGEOUS chicken broth! It just exudes health, homemade-ness, and deliciousness! This could easily be done with beef, etc.

Seriously, if I can get around to doing this--it has to be pretty darn simple.

I was at the store on Battlefield and they did not have Melissa's carrots. Instead, (as I expected) they put the sale sign on the Earthbound Farms carrots. However, they put the sale on the 1 lb. bag of whole carrots--which are always priced at $.99

So, I went to Walgreens today. I had been on Sunday (never got around to posting deals this week). I bought lots of Dry Idea and Schick razors.

Went back for more tonight. I was informed that they would no longer take 2 coupons for a B1G1 sale--um ok. Weird they made this change mid-week. Then, when I tried to buy the Dry Idea, it took my coupons and then would not take the Walgreens coupon to give the sale price. I left buying nothing. It is becoming a bigger hassle every week. It will be interesting to see what experience other people are having.

I got it in the mail the other day, and it included a coupon for a FREE bottle of Nakano Rice Vinegar. (and my bottle is almost empty, wahoo!)

Yo-Plus Yogurt

Did you notice that Yo-Plus is back on Cellfire? My DH loves this yogurt. I bought it last week and used the cellfire coupon for $1/1 and the IP from coupons.com for $1/1.

Walgreens has just put out a new $5 off $25 coupon for use in store. It is only valid on Wed. June 10 & 11. The total must be AFTER all coupons and discounts.

This is probably best used on items that generate Register Rewards.

So, after being told TWICE by the Kmart corporate office that the Springfield, MO stores would be participating, I drove all the way to town--3 kids in tow--and was told, "No, we are not doubling coupons." At least I had not shopped yet. I have since talked to the corporate office twice. Got two nice little worthless apologies. Not sure what I expected. Maybe they could tell me when our stores would be participating. Maybe they could all get on the same page. I guess I better shake it off, write off my morning/gas wasted--and remember not to expect much from Kmart in the future.

This week's ad features an informative spread on how PC has an exclusive beef contract with Creekstone Farms. I have been buying CF's All Natural beef, but the prices went up. I do like that PC carries the regular "Midwestern Reserve" beef from Creekstone farm. If I can't afford the grass-fed, at least it is raised close to home and not from a huge beef-conglomerate. (And not in those disgusting packs like Walmart carries, which are injected with gas)

Update: Watch the pricing on the crab, it is not all ringing up at the correct price. They should just adjust it for you.

Kmart Doubles Days are Upon Us!!

Kmart Stores will be doubling coupons up to $2!! This promotion will run from June 7th- June 13th.

FYI, I did call, and ALL of the Springfield, MO stores are participating!!!

Also, the rep I spoke with said they would accept coupons up to and including $2, as long as doing so did not exceed the purchase price. I asked if in that case the coupon could be adjusted down, and she said that would be at the discretion of the store's management.

So, How will I prepare for this? I will probably go through all my coupons and pull all that when doubled might make for free items, and all coupons for items that I would like and it would be worth my while when doubled.

I have heard the limit will be 10 coupons/customer/day will double. (You can use as many as you want, but only 10 will double). I may take hubby so he can get his too!
